"The NEPAD Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fairtrade Africa, whose main task is to represent the interest of Fairtrade certified producers in Africa and to promote their socio-economic development through trade. In Africa, Fairtrade is working in 28 countries and with over 290 producer organisations, representing more than 600,000 individual farmers and workers who are involved in various value chains including coffee, cocoa, tea, vegetables, fruits, wine, cotton and seeds and nuts."
