Economical Holiday Gifts

It really is the thought that counts.

With the holiday season approaching many people are thinking ‘How can I afford gifts for everyone?’ With a little creativity this problem is easily solved!

For the Coffee Drinker:
Place a $5 gift card to their favorite coffee house inside a mug, wrap in a few layers of tissue paper and tie off with ribbon.

Many stores offer $1 packets of coffee. Purchase several of these, place in a basket, and then your java lover will have a variety of flavors to try out!

Many coffee drinkers worry about enjoying their beverage of choice and then having coffee breath for the rest of the day. Take a coffee mug and fill it with mints, gum, or the breath freshener of choice. This gift can be wrapped in tissue paper or just given as is.

For the Cook:
Baskets are the best. Have a pasta lover? Fill a basket with several types of pasta and a jar of sauce. Dinner is served!

Most culinary enthusiasts can never have enough spices. Select several of their most used or favorite spices, place in a basket or even a bowl and present.

Kitchen utensils wear out quickly. Purchase several of the most commonly used utensils such as slotted spoons, serving spoons, and spatulas. Tie a ribbon or a piece of twine around them and a practical gift is created!

Have someone on your list who loves to bake? Buy a large mixing bowl and place various mixes inside. Not only will your baker love the mixes, the bowl can be used throughout the year.

For the Home:
Candles are always a great gift! There are a wide variety of scents and styles available at every price range. Buy one or several, wrap in tissue paper, and top with a bow!

So, what if there is someone on the list who loves candles but has already been given this great gift? Fear not, those candles will always need holders! Votive candle holders can be purchased rather inexpensively.

Pictures tell our lives and frames are a great gift idea. You can either select a special frame or a set of several frames. In addition, placing a picture in there of a shared event or a child will also create a keepsake.

The thought of giving holiday gifts does not have to be a headache. Keep the recipient in mind and there are plenty of ways to bring a smile to their face while keeping a budget in mind. Enjoy the holiday season and remember that it really is the thought that counts.
